The pricing on these products is frustrating. To even try out the Phind-405B model I have to pay $20 and then I get unlimited queries which I never asked for? For a product I don't even know if I'll ever use again, give me usage based pricing.

Thank you, I hear you. We'll find a way to make it so you can try some pro features, like automatic additional searches or Phind-405B, for free.

I know it is not ideal but could you do a one-time $5 week trial? Or simply a $5.99 per week plan?

I'd like to try the premium models too, but I've already spent $20 on other services, so I'm a little hesitant. Hopefully, there will be a smaller plan or a trial option.

Unlimited queries is a great differentiator and maybe the strongest selling point for me. I didn’t realize that was the case and now I’m considering paying. Agree it would be great to be able to have a short test drive of a few queries when you sign up. Reducing friction to find fit would absolutely accelerate adoption of their paid plan.

There's no need to be an early adopter, wait a few weeks and if it's worth $20, lots of people on HN will tell you, just as they currently do with Kagi search.
